What is MYBA? The Minneapolis Youth Baseball Association is 501c3 non-profit organization operated 100% by an all-volunteer board comprised of individuals who are passionate about teaching kids to play baseball the right way. Our goal is to always place athletes at the most appropriate level of competition that best supports their long-term development.

MYBA is dedicated to improving the standards of youth baseball in the South Minneapolis area by providing the highest level of coaching possible – to teach basic fundamentals and advanced strategies to help prepare kids for competition and create community pride.

MYBA’s goal is to equip players with a solid baseball foundation in terms of technical skills and game strategy so they can effectively compete at higher levels as they advance.

MYBA believes that players realize many benefits from its traveling baseball program including learning baseball fundamentals, improving physical fitness, enhancing self confidence, developing respect for others, learning to value teamwork and contributing to a team effort, developing good sportsmanship, learning how to win and to deal effectively with losing, making new friends, and enjoying the great game of baseball.

MYBA Program – Minneapolis has lots of athletically talented kid that lose interest in sports unless quality traveling sports programs like MYBA exist. MYBA is a sports program that offers a higher level of competition for kids who truly love the game of Baseball.

• Ages – MYBA fields teams from ages 9 - 14 that compete in metro-wide leagues, and a wide variety of statewide tournaments.
• Roots – WYBA started with 3 teams 1995. WYBA had 8 teams with nearly 100 kids in 2002. MYBA grew to over 150 kids in 2003.
• Any kid can tryout — MYBA fields teams at both AAA” (A) and “AA” (B) levels to provide opportunities for kids ages 9 - 14 with a range of skill levels.
• Scholarships available – MYBA makes every effort to accommodate any athletic kid who dedicated to learning the game of baseball.
• Skills development – MYBA emphasizes development of fundamentals to prepare kids for a higher level of competition. We also offer a variety of Baseball Skills Clinics to all kids in the Minneapolis area.
• Tryouts – MYBA holds tryouts in February, with final rosters selected in Mid March to Early April.
• Season – Practices begin in early April, usually right after Spring break. Seasons begin in Mid-May, ending in July.
